Adam, David Bonar (1900 - 1951)Born on 1 December 1900 in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland; died on 22 February 1951 in Adelaide, SA.
Son of David Stow Adam and Mary Grace Stow (née Paterson)
He migrated from Scotland with his family to Melbourne when his father was appointed to Ormond College, University of Melbourne.
Awarded BScAgr, University of Melbourne (there is unconfirmed reference that he did some study at the Imperial College of Science, London).
1925: Married Mavis Clarence Miller in Victoria.
1922 (date?) -1934: Research Officer and Plant Pathologist with the Department of Agriculture, Victoria.
1934: Appointed as Plant Pathologist (Lecturer) at the Waite Agricultural Research Institute, The University of Adelaide to succeed Geoffrey Samuel.
1947: Title changed to Research Officer-in-Charge (with special salary).
1950: Promoted to Reader in Plant Pathology.
He died on 22 February 1951 while still employed at Waite Institute.
Adam was buried in the Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, SA.
1954: 'D.B. Adam Memorial Prize' established at the University of Adelaide.
